Thomas Lawson and his wife Jeannie are buried in Fairview Cemetery off Country Way in Scituate. Thomas Lawson was a copper baron and a millionaire in an era where millionaires were exceedingly rare. The Scituate Historical Society has referred to Lawson as “the Bill Gates of his time.”
The Lawsons’ gravesite is truly lovely, with its perfectly placed shading trees and smooth welcoming seats engraved with the spouses’ names. Thomas Lawson left an indelible mark on the town of Scituate during his life; now he rests quietly here.
