At first, there’s one duck. She sees you approaching the boat ramp and peers up hopefully.
You pick spot and plant your feet firmly.
As you start tossing your bread a frenzy erupts. There’s pushing and shoving and squawking and splashing.
You throw your last scrap of bread and brush the crumbs from your hands. Word’s spread throughout the harbor and more birds are showing up.
“Too bad, birds,” you cheerfully announce, “you snoozed and now you lose!”
