It’s Labor Day weekend, and for Scituate that means it’s time for the Labor Day parade! Sponsored by the Scituate Beach Association, this annual event takes over the streets of Sand Hills. Some walk the parade route like Egyptians:
While some celebrate birthdays with balloons.
There are drums and pipes,
And travelers from far away lands, like Oz –
complete with the pedestrian remains of what was once a wicked witch, now flattened by a big black truck.
Some folks want to occupy Scituate – well, actually, most of us want to occupy Scituate! –
while the fifes and flags make their way down the road.
It’s the end of the summer season, and we’re sad to see it go… thank, Scituate Beach Association, for another great parade!

This looks more whimsical than a typical parade. Fun!
It is a veritable festival of whimsy, Kay! 🙂
