It was very hard to pick a picture of the year for today. Very, very hard.
But in the end I went with “Last Day of Winter.”
Taken at Minot Beach on the last day of winter in March 2012, a day that was uncommonly and unseasonably warm, a little girl wades in the water by Well Rock. She’s scanning the sandy bottom for hermit crabs, completely focused on the world below the waves.
Welcome to 2013, my friends. May the year ahead be kind to us all.

That is a cute photo. In January, it prompts a shiver. Wading into the water today would be pretty tough.
Just getting from my house to the car is tough today, Jack!
nice one
Thank you, Gerald! And thank you for hosting the Theme Day this month!!

It is one of my greatest joys that I am able to provide my daughter with moments and memories like these, Tamera. 🙂
It’s really a very good choice! I love this picture. I really love it!
Thank you very much! 🙂
It was warm here too, last March but I’m not sure it was wading weather. Love how the young lady is the focus. Happy 2013!
I’m not sure it was wading weather either, Buck, but determined young ladies will not be dissuaded!!
Happy New Year!
The perfect image for picture of the year! It’s fantastic!!
Well thank you, Carol!
