Central Park was once a school but now is part of the town’s senior housing. It’s right beside the town library (which seems just heavenly to me!) and in the shadow of Lawson Tower. With soccer fields out front and a church and preschool to the other side, it’s a vibrant part of town.
I’ve decided to give myself a little challenge – so Scituate Daily Photo will be monochromatic until March 20th, when we can welcome spring and color back into our lives.

That second floor left classroom in this rear view was my 6th grade classroom with teacher Mark Swift during the 1958-59 school year. Lot’s of memories captured in Central Elementary, for me under the watchful eyes of Ms. Reddy, Miss McKinley, Ms. Mitchell, and Mr. Swift – glad it continues to serve the community.
Thanks for sharing that memory, Jeff!! I love hearing stories like this. π
This is a pretty nice building. Another month without color? Poor Ali . . .
I might as well make it challenging, Jack! π
Looks pretty with the snow.
It’s a neat building, looks very much like a school but has adapted well (or so I hear) to its current use…
