Astronomical high tide

High tide was even higher than usual this afternoon, and the surf was leaping over the breakwaters onto Rebecca Road on Cedar Point. What was merely a dreary, rainy day a few miles inland was a bit more impressive at Scituate Light!

Special thanks to my in-laws, who called and advised me to get my camera down to the water’s edge. šŸ™‚

  1. Impressive! And scary!

  2. High tides and big waves – A warning was issued for people not to venture on piers and jetties here on the French coast of Brittany for fear of being taken by a rogue wave. Glad you escaped šŸ™‚
    Great photo !

  3. Nice capture of the high surf. Looks cold.

  4. Nathalie, it always astonishes me to see people walking out onto the breakwaters in such weather. I have great respect for the power of the ocean… also, I would be livid with myself if I ruined a camera with such stupidity! šŸ˜‰
