It’s Santa!

In Scituate, Santa Claus arrives on a harbormaster’s boat and is greeted by a crowd at the Town Pier. His arrival kicks off the Santa Stroll and events are held all over town to celebrate.

Scituate Daily Photo owes today’s shot to a generous photographer and a good friend – many, many thanks! My friend Angelle is a phenomenally talented jewelry designer and is pretty darn handy with the camera, too. 🙂

  1. I got stuck in this! I had no idea what was going on, all I saw was dozens of people running down the street in the same direction. They all were holding children and pushing strollers, literally running down the sidewalks and into the road. People were shouting. Police cars were rushing to the area. I saw a fire truck. It was complete madness. I thought there was a major catastrophe. It was like something out of a movie. I asked the woman at the bank what was going on, and she said, “Santa is coming to town – by boat”. By boat? I asked. She said, “that’s how we do it out here, welcome to Scituate.” I was wondering if you were in the mix, lol!

  2. Ha ha, too funny! Yes, it is madness – even more so if you’re actually on the pier when he arrives!

  3. I live in GA and this has traveled to me. Boy, I would love to have seen this Scituate crowd’s facial expression’s. This would be a great Thomas Kinkade or Norman Rockwell’s idea for a Christmas painting. Santa in that boat is so funny. Scituate sounds like a step back in time. Maybe I will visit one day.
