Welcome to 2011 – happy new year!

Today members of the worldwide City Daily Photo are participating in a very special theme day – we are choosing our blog’s “Photo of the Year” and sharing it with our readers. Choosing one photo was very hard for me, but in the end I went with this image from April 17, 2010.

This photo was taken at Egypt Beach. My daughter and I were standing at the water’s edge and I captured our shadows against the sand and the water. When I look at this photo, it takes me back to the brisk April winds and the salty air, the cold sand littered with pebbles and the way my daughter laughed at she played tag with the tide.
