652 people turned out for Scituate’s Annual Town Meeting and packed the high school gym.
About 140 people stayed until the final crack of the gavel.
Including me… and I think we should all get t-shirts or something.

652?! Impressive. What were the hot topics? What drew so many people to the meeting?
The hot topic this year is an override – http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/scituate/2011/04/scituate_residents_approve_22.html . It passed at town meeting, but now goes onto the ballot for the annual town election on May 7th. Feelings are running hot and strong on both sides of the fence for this one… I think a lot of people went home last night and put signs on their lawns right away.
