Telephone poles are popular spots for flyers of all sorts – but this is one type of flyer you hate to see and want to be taken down as quickly as possible.
“Charlie” or “Sampson” is a rescue dog, a Great Pyrenese who has been through a lot before coming to a safe home here in Scituate. He is missing, alone and frightened. Please help find him and bring him home.
My local readers, please spread the word and keep an eye out for him. Beware of spooking Charlie even further – call Scituate Animal Control, the Police or his family to report any sightings.
This dog’s been rescued once before – let’s rescue him again and get him back into his family’s arms.
Charlie was spotted near Old Oaken Bucket Road at 5:30 this morning – keep spreading the word, and Norwell people, keep an eye out!
UPDATE: Spotted Wednesday late afternoon at the intersection of Grove and Lincoln in Norwell. On the run and scared, more likely to respond to a woman. Call if spotted!
Lets hope that Charlie is back with his family soon, these are a beautiful friendly breed.
I hope so too, Paul. Poor guy must be terrified out there by himself.

Missing dog update. last seen yesterday on rt 3 running down the median between exits 13 & 14 Norwell Hanover area. He is more brown in color now. Dog from Scituate, last seen in Weymouth: possible sighting last night (Wed 7/13) in Weymouth, Greentree Lane, Greentree apts (off Rte 18), South Weymouth near South Shore Hospital. Witness said he was limping… as stated before he is no longer white.. may look like a large golden now, blue collar. Alert Weymouth area residents!

I am very sad to report that Charlie was found yesterday morning by the side of the highway. He had been struck by a car and did not survive his injuries.
No more running, sweet boy. Rest easy now.
