It has been raining since Tuesday. Dark skies, gloomy days, wet and musty.
Today during a slight lull, when the incessant rain hushed down to a misty murmur, there was a solitary walker on Minot’s Beach.
I love summers in Scituate – but the damp bite of the off-season wind on an empty beach does more for my soul than any sunny sky ever could.

Beautiful photo. My husband and I were talking about how much we love the off season here in Scituate. Sometimes it is nice to have the whole beach to yourself.
Thanks, Danielle. 🙂
It is an amazing amount of rain, isn’t it? At least you have an ocean to put it all in . . .
beautiful!
Yes, Jack, it is!!
Thank you, sheila. 🙂
So serene, and I love the light in this. Empty beaches are my favorite………
Wonderful capture. I love the solitary figure against the wide open span of beach and rolling waves….and the structure that’s ever so slightly visible in the mist. Great feel to this pic.
Thank you very much! I love the quiet stillness of an off-season beach…
Great capture of the beach mood. That mist can so easily wash everything out. So nice! I can almost smell the salt air.
Outstanding photo here. The sense of scale is tremendously captured. I am liking a lot of your stuff as I cruise your blog tonight.
