Today Scituate Historical Society properties all across town were open, including the Stockbridge Grist Mill. This property isn’t often open, so it was a special treat to get to see the inside of the Mill. And not only was the Grist Mill open, but it was running and producing corn meal, to the delight of everyone who visited!
Many thanks to the Historical Society members who staff sites during open house hours and who work so hard to keep history alive in town!

Nice shots. I’d love to see the corn actually being ground into meal.
very nice, I have never seen corn meal ground.
Very neat. Much better than the candy variety.
Someone told me today that the Historical Society used to sell the ground corn meal and that it was the best she’s ever had.
I hope they open the Grist Mill again next year so I can go back with a flash and get some better pictures! 😉
