Looks like someone got flocked! This group of flamingos actually represent good deeds – charity made fun, as it were. The idea is that a flock of flamingos will mysteriously appear on the victim’s front lawn, along with a note indicating where they came from. For a donation, the victim can choose where the flock next lands – a fun and creative way to raise money for a good cause.
Now, I don’t know what charity this flock represents – something which I think is a missed opportunity! In fact, I don’t know for certain that a charity is involved; I have heard of folks getting flocked for milestone birthdays, for example.
In any event, it’s a funny sight on a side street in Scituate!
Pretty in pink! I know that Quincy High parents are running a flocking fundraiser but I doubt they let the flocks fly in Scituate.
That’s funny. I’ve heard about this, but never seen it. I wonder how long they’ll stay there…
The word from SDP’s Facebook page is that they’re likely from “Breast Friends,” a local breast cancer support group. Usually a flock will stay a couple of days before being sent along to the next victim. 😉
This is an outstanding idea. And, I agree it is a HUGE missed opportunity to help the charity’s cause by not publicizing who the charity is.
