On a completely unrelated note, I wanted to apologize to those to whom I owe comments, replies and so on. I am running behind on things, as my hands are full – well, honestly, overly full – with other pressing matters right now. I hope to soon get those matters set back in order, but if I’m lagging in anything right now – well, that’s why. I’m sorry.
I’m not from Scituate, so I won’t guess at “where.” Gee, we have 17 years here. I sure hope it isn’t a gravestone for a young adult. But, it seems too upbeat for that. Was it a fisherman’s favorite dog? I will just have to come back for the answer . . .
AJ McEachern Memorial Trail,

Jack, this marker is on the AJ MacEachern Memorial Trail at the Driftway, a park along the Herring River. AJ was a young man from Scituate who was killed in a workplace accident while working a summer construction job. He was loved by many and missed by all who knew him, and this trail – and the marker – is a lovely tribute to an all-too-brief life.
