Are you ready for some football?

Football games on Thanksgiving Day are an American tradition; high school teams draw alumni in town for the holiday as well as their usual crowds. This morning the Scituate Sailors took on the Hingham Harbormen in a home game.

I am grateful for my husband Michael, who went out on his own with a camera to take this photo for today’s post. I’m still currently getting my butt kicked by my asthma, so Mr. Scituate Daily Photo stepped up to the plate.

I hope your day was filled with blessings and bounty and that you have much to be grateful for today and every day.

  1. Thanks for posting this. I saw it and was telling my son about the tradition of the high school playing football on Thanksgiving. We are in California now and they don’t follow that tradition. It started a nice conversation that allowed me to reminisce about my high school days.

  2. Who won the game today? When I went to Scituate High, it was tradition to go to the game on Thanksgiving morning, too… back then we played Rockland… I’m dating myself here…lol
