The Driftway Conservation Area runs along the Herring and North Rivers, 40 acres of trails and sandy hills and marsh grass. It is a favorite walking place for many, especially dog owners.
Every year someone goes into the Driftway and decorates trees for the holidays. No one claims knowledge of who the decorators might be – they simply enjoy their handiwork. There are at least nine trees scattered throughout the area with ornaments – and a careful observer will spy other solitary baubles hanging along the paths, gleaming on bare branches.
My daughter dubbed this one “The Snowflake Tree.”
Many thanks to Nancie and Munchie for giving me the heads up on this one – more photos to come this week! 🙂

What a wonderful Christmas surprise. Can’t wait to take a walk and check it out. Thanks to the elves!!!
I was walking my dogs there on Monday and saw you taking this photo! I’m delighted to find it here on your blog!
As one of the decorators (the tree with the frosted silver balls), I am just puffed to find mention of this unexpectedly joyous scene. Thank you.
No, thank *you* for your decorating! You and your fellow elves have brought many people joy. 🙂
What a neat idea!
Isn’t it simply lovely? 🙂
