Last week saw Santa arriving in Scituate via the Harbormaster’s boat, a very special local tradition. But Santa comes to Scituate more than once, and in another less-than-usual mode of transport:
That’s Flying Santa making his arrival at Scituate Lighthouse in a helicopter, part of a tradition that stretches back 82 years.
Once he’s landed safely,
he hops out and gives the welcoming crowd a big wave:
and starts handing out candy canes:
and spreading Christmas cheer.

I love this story. All it takes is for a few to be willing. I once some years back helped deliver a Christmas tree to a military base by Helo, it was great fun and we got a warm welcome.
Ho ho ho! What great pictures. I’m glad Santa had good flying weather today. Now he has to get back to the North Pole to rest up for the big night! Merry Christmas 🙂
