Scituate is riddled with history and reminders of times long since past. And those who lived that history have their quiet resting spots all throughout the town… take Hatch Burial Ground, for example. Tucked away at the end of Judge Cushing Road in Greenbush in between two private homes, it holds the graves of members of the Jacob and Hatch families. When Benjamin Jacob was buried here in 1792, this was farmland and salt marshes as far as the eye could see.

Hopefully there is still family who remembers… nicely caught…
I know that the Scituate Historical Society keeps an eye on the site, and there are neighbors who are keen on its history as well. The town did a burial grounds survey some years back and noted that the plot is still owned by descendants but didn’t elaborate. While the burial ground is overgrown, it is not neglected…
Those tombstones do indeed look old. Nice to see someone has been there recently and planted some flags.
