I’m not sure if this hawk was a fledgling just getting his wings under control, or if he was an older hawk being harassed by other birds in the area, but this fellow was all kinds of active, soaring into the sky, dipping, banking, acrobatic in the extreme.

Full disclosure – this particular hawk is a stunt double, standing in for his less cooperative brethren in Scituate. My daughter says the hawks in Scituate know when I have my camera and won’t fly in close so I can capture them – but these hawks in Filippello Park in Watertown weren’t the least bit shy about appearing on film.

And I bet you thought I never left town. 😉
