Summer has only just begun but we have fallen wholeheartedly into its humid, easy rhythms. Beach houses that were shuttered against the winter now fly brightly colored pennants of beach towels and bathing suits:

And little girls spin their imaginations like pinwheels against the sky, lost in pretend and play on the sunbaked rocks of the beach:
