This sparkling star hangs at the top of the Marina in Scituate Harbor, and the Harbormaster’s flags flew crisply behind it yesterday.
Despite the recent ban on bonfires and fireworks by selectmen, the great tradition of the 3rd of July in Scituate was carried on last night.

Here’s hoping everyone had a wonderful and safe night. The 4th of July is starting off cool and drizzly, which doesn’t bode well for our neighboring towns holding parades and the like.

To answer your question, yes, fireworks are legal in certain areas here. I think it may be in some areas of our county, but not in some cities. I’ve never been quite clear. We have neighbors around here somewhere who set off a show better than ones we’ve seen in some cities. It’s nice to enjoy in our own backyard!
