Thunderstorms rolled though the state yesterday, breaking the heat and humidity. North of Boston they got hail, but here on the South Shore we mostly got torrential rains and impressive sound and light shows. A building in North Scituate Village was struck by lightning and the power flickered on and off for many during the course of the storms.
Down off the Driftway, birds took cover and waited things out. These cormorants huddled on old pilings in the river, unmoving and patient despite the driving rain.
This too shall pass.

Great shot! We had thunder or lightning or both for over 24 hours a week before yours. We rarely get it here, and to have such a sustained storm was very unsettling.
