The Scituate coastline was aglow last night.
The annual luminaria display is part of Heritage Days weekend.
My family has gone to a different spot each year to see them; this year, we chose Minot Beach. It was the perfect spot to walk away the cares of the long week and the heat of the day. While the sun slowly dropped away from the skyline, volunteers lit their little lanterns and the sea wall became jeweled with tiny flames.
And we all leaned into the soft evening and exhaled.

Ali, gorgeous photos of minot and the luminaria. I didn’t know they lit candles up there. Maybe we’ll go up there and do pizza on the beach next year 🙂
They light the luminaria all up and down the coastline – some spots have better coverage than others. It’s all about the local residents who volunteer to make, place and light the candles.
