They sail out beyond the jetties, out of the harbor into the open waters.
It’s the annual Junior Regatta and the boats gather in clusters, each according to class. From the shore they are nothing but small white sails against the never-ending blue of sea and sky.
And then – the signal is given and the race begins. The ocean blooms with light airy flowers, bright colors blossoming and billowing in the wind.

It’s great if you time it to be by the boat ramp when they are putting all their boats in – a parking lot full of sails, a traffic jam in the waters off Jericho Road and then whoooosh they are on their way….!
