Thanks to Florence Choate at the Council on Aging, GATRA‘s gotten a foot in the door at Scituate by taking over the transportation van for seniors in town. GATRA provides bus service in a number of Massachusetts communities, giving a lift to commuters, seniors, students and anyone else who waves them down along the route.
Last night a public meeting was held to discuss the first proposed bus route for the town of Scituate. GATRA is seeking input from townspeople and will soon be posting a survey online; I’ll be sure to post a link when it is available.
The currently proposed route is just a starting point. (Anyone who’s paying attention, for example, will notice that North Scituate isn’t included!) But just think where you could go from here… the possibility of a Hanover Mall connection was discussed, as well as the ability to connect with other town lines.
So be sure to fill out that survey when you get your hands, virtual or physical, on it!
