The ice creaks and cracks in the crook of the harbor where Satuit Brook flows in; Canadian geese stomp across the surface disapprovingly and complain to the impassive seagulls. If you’re there when the tide is shifting, you’ll hear the ice pop and scrape against itself like an old man’s bones.

Thank you! It’s been a regular roller coaster temperature-wise – not my favrorite kind of winter.
The cracking and groaning is pretty fascinating. I am spared that lovely experience now that I winter in Florida.
