Our chilly scene from yesterday’s photo was a different place altogether this afternoon. A warm breeze tickled the ice apart and the boats were freed from their cold shackles. The temperature reached 57 degrees according to the gauge in my car and it was tempting to pretend January was slipping away and taking winter with it…
But now the wind is shrieking outside and my cats look sideways at the windows rattling in their frames. We blinked. The warm spring-like moment is over. Back into winter we go.

Hah! If you don’t like the weather in New England, . . .
Ugh! It’s in the fifties right now, but the forecast calls for snow this weekend. I’ve got weather whiplash this year!
57? At least you had a respite from the cold, albeit brief.
