The Ellis Estate house is slowly being restored to its former glory. Currently the home of the Scituate Arts Association, this lovely house was built in 1874 and was given to the town along with its surrounding lands. Two horror movies were filmed at this location – Ghosthouse and The House By The Cemetery. Still, I find the house more charming than creepy – especially with its current cheerfully painted exterior.
